About Tutor Doctor

At Tutor Doctor, we understand the value of education and the value of a helping hand.
Our tutors are not just there to help with homework. They help to spark your student’s curiosity and to give your student the tools necessary to become an independent learner and thinker.
Albert Einstein believed that “Education is not the learning of facts, but the training of the mind to think.”  We agree!  Tutoring is about creating a structured and positive environment in the home, so that your student is free to explore, think, make mistakes, and learn! Not just learn the specific subject, but learn HOW to learn ANY subject! To learn WHY they are learning, and WHY it is important to their personal growth, and their community.

At Tutor Doctor, it is our mission to cultivate students who are independent learners and critical thinkers. Our Academic Advisors discuss your short-term and long-term academic goals and create your child’s unique roadmap.  Our tutors guide your child’s habits while building foundational skills and filling academic gaps.

And we don’t stop there; because we do whatever it takes to make this vision a reality for every single student we meet.

Whether that means meeting with your child’s teacher, a monthly visit from your Academic Advisor, or having an entire roster of tutors “on call” for any subject – we’re here to support you throughout your enrollment.

Why tutoring?

Well, because you don’t know what you don’t know until someone shows you what you’re missing!  Whether you’re struggling to keep up in class, or you’re an “A” student, tutoring is there to help you MASTER the ART of LEARNING.

What else can my tutor show me?

Great Question! An equally important attribute for a great student is ORGANIZATION and TIME MANAGEMENT. Your tutor can make sure that you’re using your time wisely, keeping on task, and can continue to manage yourself, by yourself.

What’s the big deal?

The big deal is that, as humans, we are the only creatures on this planet who have the ability to not only think and create but also to record an communicate our ideas for future generations!  So as a society, we know how important it was for each of us to develop these skills so that we can read and understand the ideas of the people before us, and create new ideas for the future. This is why we want to learn how to speak, read, write and think, and explore all of the subjects like science, math, history, language, and art. Each of us has a big impact on the present and future!

Each of us has the opportunity to master the subjects taught in school, and have the freedom to select our careers based on our passions and interests. Don’t limit yourself because you’re not “good at” math, or science, or English, or because you got a bad grade on a test. We each owe it to ourselves to unlock our full potential and have the freedom to think, to do, and to be what we want. Don’t settle, be amazing at everything! Don’t give up! Ask for help. Don’t be afraid to make mistakes, because, “the person who never made a mistake, never tried anything new!” – Albert Einstein.
